Columbia Community Care

This grassroots group began in March 2020 in response to the growing & dire needs of our community members who are struggling in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
We are unsure of how long schools will be closed or how extensive the lockdown will be as we deal with the effects of this virus.  We are very thankful that HCPSS is providing “grab and go” sites for students who rely on school breakfast and lunches during the week. However, there is still so much need for our families and communities in the midst of the school closure. We have many families who are in need of items to sustain them for the foreseeable future beyond a “grab and go” meal program.
In light of our community centers and libraries being shut down, many of our kids are in need of activities to sustain their mental, physical, and emotional well-being during this time. Many families are also desperately searching for childcare and are facing loss of income.

This group was set up because so many amazing members of our community wanted to help our fellow residents in this unprecedented time of need. Let’s come together (six feet apart), uplift and support our community. Please check out our pages to find out how you can either get supplies or help others in the community.  If you’re on Facebook, check out our page as well for frequent updates and information.
